My Halloween

I love Halloween, especially as a gamer. I’ve never gone to any cosplay events, so Halloween is my time to dress up as a video game character. I’ve dressed up as Zelda 3 times – Twilight Princess Zelda, Skyward Sword Zelda, and Tetra, and I’d love to go as Breath of theWild Zelda one year.

All of the three jack-0-lanterns I’ve carved have been video game themed. I don’t have a picture of my triforce one, but last year I did a Navi pumpkin and put a color-changing light in it! Using a colored light is a great way to mix up your jack-o-lantern game.

This year, I knew I wanted to do a pokémon pumpkin. I had a few ideas in mind – I either wanted to do a fire or a ghost type, and I eventually decided on chandelure (so I got to do both)!

I’m thinking about buying a couple pumpkins next year and doing one design more like these and another less traditional design. I love getting creative – I wish I got to do stuff like this more often.

I decided to dress up as Madeline from Celeste. It was a simple costume, but I really loved it – I actually took these pictures a couple days after the Halloween party I went to, so my hair’s not as orange-y, but I think the lighting I used gives it that orange-y quality here. I’d love to do this again and have a friend dress up as Badeline, or switch my hair up and go for her late game pinky-purply color.

I need to get back to playing Celeste – I’ve reached the point in the Farewell DLC where I need to go back and get crystal hearts, so that’s what I’m working on now.

That was my Halloween, if you’re interested in seeing some non-gaming related pics, my check out my instagram. I’m already looking forward to next Halloween!
